Choosing payment options for appointments
When to offer Stripe, bank transfer, and pay at appointment for the UK market.
Different businesses need different payment rules. A salon may accept payment at the appointment, while a clinic or high-demand specialist may require online payment to secure the booking.
Stripe is best when the business wants card payment upfront. Bank transfer can work for trusted local customers, but the booking reference should be shown clearly so payments can be matched. Pay at appointment is still common in the UK, especially where customers pay by card machine or cash in person.
The cleanest customer experience is to show all available options in one payment section and explain what happens after confirmation.
